So bring your dog, cat, bird, lizard, monkey or whatever (tame and housebroken) animal you may have and “say cheese” with Santa!

Train Show – December 12-14, 2025!

Join us the second weekend in December for our Annual John Costlow Christmas Train Show, held in memory of longtime Lion and Train Show enthusiast, the late Doug Doubleday.
The Maritime Museum hosts the John Costlow Christmas Train Show each year (inside the Watercraft Center at 322 Front Street)! The annual show offers a glimpse into the past with antique working model trains and model trains of all sizes.
The model train layouts will include a variety of items of interest to railroad enthusiasts of all ages, ranging from simple circles traditionally found around the Christmas tree to more elaborate systems. Each display has been carefully designed by the owner or operator to appeal to those just beginning this hobby, as well as others who have had a lifetime interest in model railroading.
Admission is always free and donations support the Beaufort Lions Club.

KidSight!

Lions Kidsight USA, Community Eye Screening For Children

Lions KidSight USA is a nationwide program bringing Lions clubs across the country together to ensure our children receive eye screenings and follow-up care when needed. We train and mobilize caring people to be able to easily and efficiently screen the vision health of our nation’s youngest, dearest, and most vulnerable children to help ensure they receive early academic and social development success that we all deserve — guided by the fact that 80% of a child’s learning and development requires healthy, corrected vision. We will announce future KidSight Community Screenings on our social media pages, so check back often!

Beaufort Lions Club Sponsored
Vision Screenings!

The Beaufort Lions Club hosts FREE Hearing and Vision screening to any in need. The North Carolina Lions Vision Van visits Beaufort and Morehead City several times a year. Check here or our Facebook page for the next Vision Van date. All are welcome! A big thank you to Dr. Patrick Patterson of Beaufort Vision Clinic (http://beaufortvision.com/) for donating his time.

Eighty percent of all visual impairment can be prevented or cured. The first step to prevention is awareness. The second is early detection through vision screening. Around the world, Lions partner with medical professionals and community leaders to screen young children, primary school students, and adults to identify those at risk for vision loss. The venue for Lions’ vision screenings varies from schools, to workplaces, to community health fairs, and the screening methods depend upon the age group. But the results are always the same. Early identification leads to timely referral, professional treatment, and improved or restored sight.
